London, 08 Aug: The British Government has announced the constitution of a new task force to control illegal immigration in England. The lawyers helping immigrants illegally will face stern action.
The lawyers informing people about methods of immigration illegally and helping them will be prosecuted.
The punishment to them could extend to life imprisonment, under Section 25 of the Immigration Rules 1971. Earlier, the Solicitor Regulatory Authority closed the law firms helping illegal immigrants.
Home Minister Suella Braverman said that most of the lawyers work honestly. However, those violating immigration laws must be brought to books.
