Lucknow, 4 May: In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the Model Code of Conduct in Uttar Pradesh is being strictly followed. Under this, active flying squad, excise, police team have seized liquor, drugs, precious metals and cash etc. worth Rs 33857.73 lakh till May 03.
This includes cash worth Rs 3338.61 lakh, liquor worth Rs 4815.04 lakh, drugs worth Rs 22343.31 lakh. Precious metals worth Rs 2193.07 lakh and other materials worth Rs 1167.71 lakh have been seized. While continuing the sequence of action, on May 3, the team has seized liquor, drugs and cash etc. worth Rs 211.86 lakh. In this, Rs 26.20 lakh cash, 17961.07 liters of liquor worth Rs 47.68 lakh, 89480.24 grams of drugs worth Rs 137.85 lakh and 06 other items worth Rs 0.12 lakh were seized.
The major seizure was in Obra (SC) assembly constituency of Sonbhadra district. 3388 grams of drugs with an estimated value of Rs 76.84 lakh and 160 grams of drugs with an estimated value of Rs 32 lakh were seized in Robertsganj assembly constituency of Sonbhadra district.
