Lucknow, 12 May: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state will be declared ‘mafia-free’ from June 4 on Sunday. The Chief Minister emphasized his government’s hard stance on crime syndicates in a statement issued by an official spokeswoman here.
The Chief Minister stated that the properties amassed by notorious mafia figures will be confiscated, with the seized assets slated for redistribution to underprivileged segments of society, including the impoverished, orphaned, women’s shelters, and facilities catering to the needs of the differently-abled.
The Chief Minister’s declaration comes amid increased scrutiny of the government’s anti-mafia operations, as he answers questions about the administration’s tactics for combatting both criminal forces and political opposition.
“Hospitals and schools will be erected on the mafia’s illicit lands. The first step will be a crackdown on the mafia, followed by the confiscation of their holdings. Our action plan is also ready for this,” the Chief Minister stated.
On the seizure of the properties of senior Samajwadi Party politician and former minister Azam Khan, the Chief Minister stated that he is another “Kaka Shree” of the Mahabharata family. Everyone remained quiet in front of Duryodhana and Dushasan as Draupadi was stripped naked. Azam Khan or any other mafia boss will receive what they sow. They hampered the state’s progress. As a result, such individuals are facing severe consequences.
He stated that individuals found guilty of instigating instability in the state will face the brunt of punitive measures for seven generations.
He also emphasized the necessity of preserving the safety and security of the state’s women, pointing out a noticeable improvement in their protection under the current government. Addressing another inquiry, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the transformational impact of the government’s initiatives in creating an atmosphere of security and confidence.
He demonstrated how the culprits are now required to publicly plead clemency, symbolizing the state’s fearless climate.
In reaction to claims made by certain Islamic “fundamentalists” about Ghazwa-e-Hind, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath categorically denied the concept, defending India’s long-standing identity. He emphasized that Ghazwa-e-Hind, a supposedly predicted invasion; had no faith and that India will stay such till the end of time.
Yogi Adityanath chastised Congress lawmaker Salman Khurshid’s niece for advocating “vote jihad” as an effort to use religion for electoral advantage. He blasted the practice, claiming that individuals who use such techniques will not find consolation.
