Lucknow, 24 October: Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order Upendra Aggarwal in Lucknow Commissionerate Police told the media that tickets for the India-England cricket match of the World Cup-2023 were sold by creating a fake website that is registered as “iccworldcuptickets.com”. This was found to be correct during the probe.
Aggarwal told that a case has been registered against the culprits and this information has also been sent to ICC and BCCI.
Upendra Aggarwal told that the cricket match between India and England is scheduled to be held on October 29 at Atal Bihari Bajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. For this, cyber thugs are deceiving people by selling fake tickets as per their plan.
He said after receiving this information, an investigation was conducted into the fake website. After the plan of selling tickets through the fake website came to light, teams have been deployed to arrest its operators. The person who reported the fraud has been thanked.
He told that those who spamming under the guise of cricket match will not be spared. Those doing such work will be arrested. Other such cases may also come to light before the cricket match, for this, monitoring is being done through online system.
He told that cricket lovers should buy tickets for cricket matches only from the website called Book My Show. ICC, BCCI have authorized Book My Show website.
