Lucknow, May 26: The faces of the accused have come in front of Ghazipur police station, which is investigating the murder of Mohini Dubey, wife of former commissioner, ex-IAS Devendra Nath Dubey, police said.

After 24 hours of investigation, the faces of the accused riding a scooty came out from the CCTV footage after reaching the Cantt area.

The accused who carried out the robbery and murder of Mohini Dubey in Indira Nagar Sector 22 wore helmets the whole time. Both the accused came wearing helmets at the time of the incident. They murdered Mohini Dubey and committed the robbery. While wearing helmets, both the accused washed Mohini’s body to erase the evidence, also washed the items touched by hands and kept the looted items in a bag and ran away on foot in the street in front, informed police.

However, it had become difficult for the police to identify the faces of the accused who were wearing helmets during the entire incident. During the investigation, about 150 CCTV cameras were checked. After the scooty was caught on CCTV cameras near the crime scene, the accused were seen taking off their helmets in the Cantt area at a distance of about 10 km. After this, the police of Ghazipur police station saw the faces of the accused, which are being matched with old criminals.

If the police of Ghazipur police station and the Crime Branch unit are to be believed, the accused used helmets to hide their identity at the time of the incident. So that they could not be identified. Due to the scorching heat, when they took off their helmets after reaching the Cantt area, their faces were revealed that will help to arrest both accused involved in crime.
