Amethi, 31 Oct: Officials stated on Tuesday that police had filed a FIR against a person for allegedly posting derogatory statements on social media about the Ramcharitmanas, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Amethi Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Priti Tiwari.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Lallan Singh, the statements were made on the social networking platform ‘X’ by one Shiv Prasad Ramdev Nirmal of Theka village, which is within the jurisdiction of the Sangrampur police station.
He stated that the case was filed against Shiv Prasad Ramdev Nirmal under relevant provisions of the law based on a complaint filed by Sangrampur Sub-Inspector Sharad Chandra Mishra.
Singh stated that the situation is being investigated. Tulsidas, a 16th-century Bhakti poet, wrote Ramcharitmanas, an epic poem in the Awadhi language based on the Ramayana.
