Bareilly, 27 Jan: A man reportedly killed the mother and brother of the woman he was going to marry after his wedding was cancelled, according to authorities on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night at the Izzatnagar police station area. Police are hunting for the culprit, Sanjeev Kumar, of Asihabad, Izzatnagar, they added.
Kumar fatally shot Meena (55) and her son Netrapal (21) on the Nainital highway, 500 yards from the Ahladpur police post. The corpses were discovered on the highway. Kumar’s wedding to Meena’s daughter had been scheduled, but it was later cancelled, according to Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati.
He stated that after getting information about the occurrence, police arrived at the scene and transported the remains for post-mortem examination.
A complaint was filed against Kumar in response to a complaint from Meena’s husband, Bhup Ram.
The SP stated that efforts are underway to apprehend him. In his complaint, Ram stated that he had planned his daughter’s wedding with Kumar but cancelled it after learning about Kumar’s inappropriate behaviour. Kumar became enraged and shot Meena and Netrapal, according to the complaint.
