Lucknow, 14 November: Lucknow Municipal Corporation kicked off sprinkling of water on roads and tress to curb post-Diwali pollution in the city.
According to the authority, sprinkling of water was done on the instructions of Municipal Corporation Zone 1 officer Arvind Kumar Rao from Hazratganj via Municipal Corporation office via Lalbagh and from Vidhan Sabha via Raj Bhawan road in Gautampalli.
There was a blanket of light fog in the city on Tuesday morning. Sensing the changed environment post-Diwali, the Municipal Corporation will carry out sprinkling of water over trees so that there is no harm to the environment in any way.
In a campaign to save the environment, Municipal Corporation employees were seen showering water on trees and roads in the morning with their vehicles.
During this time, water was sprinkled on trees planted in small and big parks including Municipal Corporation Park, Smart City Office Park, Dayanidhi Park, Gandhi Park.
In other parts of the city, the Municipal Corporation also sprinkled water on the trees planted on the roadside towards Gomti Nagar, Vibhuti Khand, Polytechnic and 1090 intersection.
Municipal Corporation’s Garden Superintendents Ganga Ram and Shashi are also keeping a close watch on the conditions of the gardens in the city.
They have instructed the employees working in the gardens not to be negligent in taking care of the plants and trees in the gardens.
Apart from the Additional Municipal Commissioners of the Municipal Corporation, Environmental Engineer Sanjeev has also been engaged in taking care of the environment in the changing weather.
