Lucknow, 18 December: The district administration has mandated to seek prior permission from the District Magistrate (DM) to organise entertainment events in various clubs, resorts, pubs, restaurants and parks etc. of the Lucknow on the eve of Christmas and New Year on December 31, according to DM’s order.
The order further said that if the organisers, representatives of hotels, resorts, clubs, pubs and restaurants do not obtain DM’s authorization in advance and if the order’s violation is found, legal action will be taken against them.
The district officials issued the necessary directives, requiring representatives, owners of hotels, restaurants, resorts, clubs, and pubs, among others, to obtain permission for such events. Permission will only be granted once the required no-objection certificates (NOCs) have been obtained from the various departments involved.
As per Lucknow DM’s order, “Representatives of hotels, clubs and pubs, resorts, restaurants, and other places, which are planning to organise parties or events for Christmas or New Year will have to ensure that they seek permission from the DM’s office, as per the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Cinemas (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 1955.”
“The officials concerned have been asked to ensure that necessary permissions are sought for such events in the district while ensuring that the permission is granted only after all norms are met,” said one officer.
Officer said “to obtain prior permission, the organisation must apply through the online portal ‘Niveshmitra.up.nic.in’. The entire process is online and, therefore, all NOCs such as fire safety, electrical safety, and security, among others, have to be uploaded online only.”
The order added that if the organisers, representatives face any problem in online process of obtaining permission letter, they can visit DM’s office room number 40A for help.
