Lucknow, May 22: The session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly will commence from Monday. However, a day before this, the main opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) called a meeting of the legislature party in the party office to counter the government, but the meeting was not attended by Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) chief Shivpal Singh Yadav, SP MLA Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam.
Party leaders claimed that Azam did not attend the meeting due to health issues.
Senior SP leader Azam Khan, who was released from Sitapur jail after 27 months after getting interim bail from the Supreme Court, started interacting with the people.
On Sunday, Azam met his close friends Guddu Masood and Yusuf Malik, who were in jail.
Talking about Guddu Masood, he is accused in the case registered regarding enemy property. He is in jail since last August 26 2020.
On coming out of the jail after the meeting, Azam answered each and every question of the journalists.
Without taking the name of Akhilesh Yadav, he said that I have no complaint against anyone. There must be some basis for being angry. We ourselves are useless. I am thankful to all.
Azam said that my health is bad, in such a situation, if my health is fine, then I will stay in the house, because the oath of the assembly has to be taken.
Senior SP leader Ravidas Mehrotra also said that Azam and his son Abdullah Azam will attend the session on Monday.
