Lucknow, 31 May: The Local Area Development Fund for Uttar Pradesh MLAs would be enhanced to Rs 5 crore from Rs 3 crore, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

After that, MLAs from both the ruling and opposition parties thumped their desks in response to Adityanath’s declaration in the state assembly.

Legislators use the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) Fund to carry out development projects in their districts. All legislators wanted the MLALAD Fund to be enhanced, according to Leader of the Opposition Akhilesh Yadav, and the Leader of the House agreed it. He thanked everyone for their help.

The MLALAD Fund was enhanced from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore in February 2020 during the previous term of the Adityanath-led BJP government (2017-2022). The amount was raised from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore in 2019. After clearing the state budget on Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly adjourned sine die.
