LUCKNOW, 01 APRIL: On the 13th day of civil disobedience and non-cooperation movement issued by the Engineer and Junior Engineer in protest against the top management of power corporations, more than 6000 power engineers and junior engineers submitted their applications to the management to go on mass leave from April 4 to 6.

Meanwhile, engineers who go on collective leave include Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer. The remaining 4000 applications for mass leave will be handed over to the management tomorrow on April 2.

However, Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, UP today appealed to the State Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma for effective intervention. The officers of the Engineers’ Association and Junior Engineer’s Organization said that they should get the irregularities removed by holding talks, so that the atmosphere of industrial unrest prevailing in the energy sector can be ended.

The office bearers of the organization VP Singh, Prabhat Singh, GB Patel, Jai Prakash informed that the remaining 4000 applications for mass leave will be handed over to the management tomorrow, April 02. If meaningful action is not taken to resolve the problems, then in order of complete non-cooperation with the civil disobedience movement and management, one will be forced to take a mass holiday on the next 04, 05 and 06 April.

Management is fully responsible for large scale corruption and industrial unrest at high level in ERP system purchase and power purchase in energy corporations. Due to this, while the power workers are facing a lot of difficulties in fulfilling the goal of providing electricity to all as per the intention of the state government, on the other hand a fearful environment and negative working system is being established in the energy corporations. This is neither in the interest of the state nor in the interest of the energy corporations.

The officials further stated that the energy corporation management has completely failed in ensuring the minimum man, money, material availability in the energy corporations and to hide its failure and take repressive action against those who demanded and opposed the resources.
