Lucknow, 01 December: Rumi Darwaza, which has been decorated under the supervision of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, will soon get a place in the list of world tourist destinations.
On the initiative taken by the Tourism Department, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has prepared a proposal to bring Rumi Darwaza to the list of world tourist destinations.
The proposal of the ASI has been finalized. Earlier, the Archaeological Survey of India will build moonlight lights, domes, seating platforms etc. around Rumi Darwaza to attract tourists. This is the reason why Rumi Darwaza, which was opened for a few hours for the Muharram procession, was closed again.
Since its closure, work is being done to give a systematic look to Rumi Darwaza. Movement under the door is prohibited. Bada Imambara is located behind Rumi Darwaza and Chota Imambara is located in front. The work of preparing this area under the heritage zone has gained momentum since one year.
Officials from the Archaeological Survey of India inspected Rumi Darwaza a few days ago and while talking to the media at that time, they said that Rumi Darwaza was earlier limited to Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh, which was brought to the forefront of India. Due to which people coming for tourism came to see Rumi Darwaza. Now preparations are on to include it in the world tourist destinations.
For this, an attempt has been made to give a new attraction to Rumi Darwaza with carvings, beauty of its shape and new colors. A canteen for selling food items for people and tourists, a permanent exhibition and an interpretation center specially for tourists will be set up around it.
