Maha Kumbh 2025 will be the paradigm of cleanliness, security and convenience: CM Yogi

Lucknow, June 24: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to make every possible effort to organize the Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj in 2025 on the standards of cleanliness, convenience and security. The Chief Minister has said that Maha Kumbh is a great opportunity to introduce the whole world to Sanatan culture. It will become a medium of global branding of not only Uttar Pradesh but also India. We have to give our best contribution for its successful organization.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with various departments related to the management of Maha Kumbh on Monday and reviewed the preparations made so far and gave necessary guidelines. In the meeting, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Kumbh Mela Adhikari and officials of the Police Department apprised the Chief Minister of the preparations made so far.

CM Yogi said that after a gap of 12 years, the holy occasion of Maha Kumbh is going to come on the Triveni coast in Prayagraj in the coming year 2025. The whole world is eager to experience this intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we all have set a standard by successfully organizing Kumbh in the year 2019. This time people’s expectations from us are even higher. Keeping in mind the faith, expectations and aspirations of the common people, the Maha Kumbh should be organized in accordance with its dignity and importance. Once again we have to show our work with better teamwork.

Maha Kumbh Mela is proposed from 13 January 2025 to 26 February 2025. In view of the convenience of saints, bathers, Kalpvasis, devotees, tourists etc., Maha Kumbh 2025 will be organized in a huge complex as compared to the year 2019. Last time the fair was spread over 3200 hectares, this time it is being expanded to an area of โ€‹โ€‹more than 4000 hectares. In such a situation, the number of parking, pontoon bridges, number of ghats, street lights, toilets etc. should be increased as per the requirement.

The Chief Minister said that within 45 days from 13 January 2025 to 26 February 2025, Paush Purnima, Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami, Maghi Purnima and Mahashivratri will be the major bathing dates. Apart from daily devotees / tourists, Kalpvasis will also be present in Maha Kumbh. Appropriate arrangements should be made according to their safety, convenience and requirements.

Traffic and parking are important subjects in efficient management. Make a better action plan on both of these in the fair area and Prayagraj city. Efforts should be made that no parking in the fair area should be more than 05 km away from Sangam. He said that the work of beautification of 07 river front roads, 14 ROBs and 07 old ghats is being done in Prayagraj. Construction of 06 lane bridge is also going on. All these works should be completed by October in any case. The departments which are doing the work should continuously monitor it, check the quality and get the work completed within the time limit.

The anti-encroachment campaign should be continued by Prayagraj Development Authority. The work of widening and beautification of roads should be completed on time. The work of road side facade development should be completed by September.

The Chief Minister said that for the convenience of the devotees coming to get the benefits of Maha Kumbh and tourists from the country and the world, there should be excellent connectivity of road, rail and air for smooth movement to the fair area. More than 7000 buses should be arranged by the Transport Department. The Urban Development Department should make available as many EV shuttle buses as possible. The construction work of the new terminal of the airport should be completed by October. The arrangement should be such that it does not take more than 30 to 40 minutes to reach the fair area from the airport.

Yogi stated that the Maha Kumbh is a symbol of India’s ancient culture. The entire city should be decorated in accordance with its dignity. The story related to Kumbh, symbols of Sanatan culture etc. should be depicted. Kumbh logos should be installed at the intersections. Efforts should be made for theme based gates, pillars, lighting.

The cleanliness of Prayagraj Kumbh 2019 had impressed every visitor. This time we need to make such efforts. We will have to work with public cooperation to ensure that Maha Kumbh 2025 is free of banned polythene. Form a Mohalla Swachhta Samiti to ensure that every ward and every mohalla of Prayagraj is clean. Start the efforts right now. Increase public awareness. Everyone will have to contribute so that the entire Prayagraj including the fair area becomes a model of cleanliness. Plants along with tree guards should be planted on the main roads connecting Prayagraj city. Work should be done with the aim of Green Prayagraj-Green Mahakumbh.

Yogi said that in view of the possible arrival of devotees and tourists in the Maha Kumbh, 1,50,000 toilets should be arranged in the fair area. More than 10 thousand employees will be required for their regular cleaning. Timely payment of honorarium of employees should be ensured. Adequate employees should be deployed for the cleanliness of the fair area.

CM cautioned officers that In every case, it should be ensured that there is no dirt anywhere in the entire flow area of โ€‹โ€‹Ganga ji from Bijnor to Ballia. Not a single drain/sewage should fall into Ganga. Along with sewerage treatment plant, activate Ganga Swachh Samiti in all the concerned districts. Garbage from villages should not be dumped in the river. Drainage should not fall into Ganga. Water of dead animals should not be released.

Work of Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop, Patalpuri Corridor should be completed speedily. Expected cooperation is being received from the army. Maintain constant coordination with them. Work started by the Tourism Department in Nagvasuki Temple, Shringaverpur Dham, Mankameshwar Temple, Dwadashamadhav Temple and Alopshankari Temple should be completed on time.

Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of devotees and tourists, proper arrangements should be made for their stay. Get good pandals prepared for cultural events. Camps should also be prepared for the stay of special and very special guests.

Yogi advised that the behavior of policemen should be sweet and decent with every devotee coming to Maha Kumbh. Cooperate with the people. They should be counseled before the deployment of the force. The police will have to remain active 24ร—7. Crowd management is an important subject during the fair. Prepare a better action plan for this. Proper arrangements should be made for AI based crowd monitoring, crowd density analysis, incident reporting, call center, lost and found center, fire safety, CCTV cameras, deployment of water police etc. Wherever additional manpower is required, make arrangements. There should be strong arrangements on all standards of security.

The Chief Minister said that railways will be the most convenient means for devotees in Maha Kumbh. Most people will come through this medium. In such a situation, coordinate with the railways. If stations and platforms are pre-determined for state-wise trains, it will be convenient. This should also be publicized. If any department is facing any inconvenience in organizing Maha Kumbh, then the Chief Minister’s office can be contacted immediately.
