Mahakumbh Nagar, 13 February: The Mahakumbh Mela administration once again proved its readiness regarding the cleaning of Sangam Ghats after the sacred bath of Magha Purnima. After the bathing festival ended, the team of ‘Safai Mitras’ started a massive cleaning drive in the evening, as a result of which the Sangam Ghat started looking clean and beautiful again overnight.
It is noteworthy that on the occasion of Magha Purnima Snan, more than 2 crore people took a holy dip in the Sangam on Wednesday. During this, a large number of devotees left flowers, garlands, clothes, food on the ghat and made a mess of fair area. Also, a large number of toilets were also used. The fair administration started a cleaning campaign after the crowd on the ghats decreased and by morning once again succeeded in making the ghats clean and beautiful.
Disposal of solid waste and cesspool operation conducted
All sector magistrates were instructed by the fair administration to run a cleaning campaign on a large scale as soon as the crowd ends. In order to comply with the instructions, the campaign was started as soon as the crowd reduced. The administration immediately disposed of the solid waste left by the devotees during the bathing festival. Garbage was picked up from the ghats and the fair area with the help of special cleaning vehicles. Apart from this, cesspool operation was carried out in all the toilets, so that cleanliness could be ensured.
Dustbins and roads were also cleaned
Anand Kumar Singh, the sanitation in-charge of the fair, said that under the cleaning campaign, the sanitation workers swept all the roads and cleaned them. The dustbins and liner bags installed in the fair area were emptied with the help of tipper and compactor. The administration says that similar cleaning campaigns are being carried out daily to make Swachh Mahakumbh a success. However, it is being conducted as a campaign on the bathing festival, so that the devotees coming for bathing the next day can experience the holy bath.
Devotees expressed gratitude
Devotees and local people were very impressed with this quick action of the fair administration. They expressed gratitude to the administration and Yogi government for this. A devotee said that the administration’s commitment towards cleanliness has once again proved that no stone is being left unturned to make Maha Kumbh 2025 clean and organized.
