Maharashtra: 20,181 corona cases found in one day in Mumbai, four died

Mumbai, 06 January: 20,181 new corona cases were found in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, while four died during treatment. Mumbai once again seems to be moving towards lockdown.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has made it clear that if the number of patients reaches above 20 thousand, then we will have to consider the lockdown. Out of the total patients found in Mumbai on Thursday, 17,154 i.e. 85 percent patients have been found without symptoms. 106 patients have been kept on on-season. In Covid centers and hospitals, 5,998 or 16.8 percent beds are filled. These also include 1983 oxygen beds.

Similarly, 2,837 patients have been cured, while 79,260 active patients are undergoing treatment. In Mumbai, the recovery rate has come down from 90 to 88 percent, the infection rate has increased to 0.99 percent and the doubling rate has come down to 70 days. 32 slums in the city have been declared as containment zones. At the same time, 506 buildings have been sealed so far.

If we look at the state, a total of 36,265 new patients were found in the state on Thursday, while 13 patients died. However, 8,907 patients have also been cured.

On the other hand, 5, 85,758 people have been kept in home and 1,368 people in institutional quarantine. The recovery rate in the state has come down to 96.17, the infection rate has reached 9.71 percent and the death rate has reached 2.08 percent.

On Thursday, 79 new patients were found in the state of Omicron, the new variant of Corona, in which Mumbai alone has the highest number of 57 infected patients.

One new patient has been found in Pune district, 6 in Nagpur, 7 in Thane Municipal area and Pimpri-Chinchwad. A total of 565 patients have been found in Mumbai so far.

So far, the number of Omicron infected has reached 876 in the state. So far 381 infected patients have been discharged from hospitals.,m
