Maharashtra Additional DGP Quaiser Khalid suspended in Ghatkopar hoarding case

Mumbai, June 25: State’s Additional Director General of Police (Human Rights Protection) Quaiser Khalid has been suspended in the Ghatkopar hoarding case. It is alleged that lakhs of rupees were paid into Khalid’s wife’s account to grant permission to the company that put up the hoardings. Therefore, Kaiser Khalid has been suspended.

Khalid has been accused of misusing his powers by ignoring the accepted norms and giving permission to huge hoardings of 120 & 140 square feet. The hoardings were approved automatically without taking permission from the DGP office. Administrative errors and irregularities have been found in it.

The investigation revealed that former director of Ego Private Limited, Janhavi Marathe, got the Ghatkopar hoarding contract by luring the Railway Police with 400 percent more profit. The special investigation team has got hold of many important correspondences containing documents signed by Marathas. It has also come to light that during this tenure, someone gave him Rs 33 lakh 50 thousand and a Mercedes in his account. Intensive investigation of this matter is going on.
