Mumbai, April 28: The Bhima-Koregaon Inquiry Commission has issued summons to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar for questioning.

He has been summoned to appear before the commission on May 5 and 6. This is the third summon sent by the commission to Sharad Pawar. Earlier, Sharad Pawar did not appear before the commission on the medical ground.

It is worth mentioning that violence broke out in Koregaon-Bhima of Pune on January 1, 2018. One person had died in this. The state government had constituted the Bhima-Koregaon Commission to probe the violence with the NIA handing over its investigation. Sharad Pawar had blamed Milind Ekbote and Sambhaji Bhide for this violence.

Meanwhile, Pawar had then told the media that there is a big contradiction between the investigation of the violence and the actual facts there. For this reason, Sagar Shinde, a member of Vivek Vichar Manch, had demanded from the commission that Sharad Pawar’s testimony should also be recorded.

However, this commission has recorded the statements of the then senior police officer Rashmi Shukla and other officials.
