Mumbai, June 25: A curfew was imposed in Mumbai on Saturday till July 10, and security at all-party offices has been beefed up due to the political deadlock in Maharashtra for the last five days.
Despite this strictness, the office of Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde was vandalised in Ulhasnagar this afternoon. The offices of rebel Shiv Sena MLA Mangesh Kudalkar in Mumbai and the office of Tanaji Sawant in Pune were vandalised this morning.
In all, 19 Shiv Sena have been arrested in these cases. The Home Minister has also directed the police officers to take strict steps to maintain law and order.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey held a meeting of senior police officers this morning and directed them to take a tough role in maintaining law and order.
After this, the Mumbai Police decided to impose a curfew in Mumbai till July 10.
In this order, the exemption has been given to government offices, wedding ceremonies, funerals, cinema halls, and theatres.
An order has also been issued to remove posters and banners everywhere in the city. Not only this, the special team of police will also keep an eye on social media. Police have ordered the immediate removal of violent banner posters.
This order has been issued in view of the prevailing political situation in the state. Mumbai Police have appealed to all parties and activists for peace.
Security has been increased at the residence and office of Eknath Shinde in Thane.
