Maharashtra govt to hand over NEET paper leakgate probe to CBI

Mumbai, June 27: The Maharashtra government on Thursday decided to hand over the investigation of all cases related to the NEET paper leak case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Several allegations of irregularities have been made in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Under Graduate) or NEET, a medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency.

According to Home Department sources, the Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) team has arrested two accused in the NEET paper leak case and both are being thoroughly interrogated. During interrogation of these two, inputs have been received about the involvement of more than 30 people from Maharashtra in this racket.

The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly has started from today and the opposition is aggressive about the NEET paper leak case. The investigation of the NEET paper leak case has been handed over to the CBI by the Central Government. For this reason, today the Home Department of Maharashtra has also decided to hand over the investigation of this case to the CBI.
