Mumbai, November 27: After the crushing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly polls, discontent has started to emerge among the allies of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

In the Shiv Sena UBT meeting on Wednesday, a demand was made to leave the MVA and contest the elections on its own strength. Responding to this, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said that his party is also ready for this.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council and Shiv Sena UBT leader Ambadas Danve told reporters on Wednesday that a meeting of party officials was called at Matoshree bungalow in Bandra today.

The officials and leaders present in this meeting said that the party has suffered losses by contesting the elections while being in the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Everyone has demanded to contest the upcoming elections on their own strength. However, the party president has not taken any decision on this yet.

On Ambadas Danve’s statement, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said that Mahavikas Aghadi has suffered a huge loss in the assembly elections. This is true, but the leaders of MVA are going to sit together and discuss why the loss happened, but if any leader gives such a statement before the meeting of party leaders, then Congress is also ready for it.

Vijay Wadettiwar said that the state president of the party can take a decision in this regard, but we also want to contest the upcoming elections separately, this will strengthen the party in 288 assembly constituencies.
