New Delhi, March 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of Delhi announced the implementation of Mahila Samridhi Yojana on Saturday on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Under this, poor women of Delhi will get Rs 2500 every month. E-KYC will be used for verification of beneficiaries.
The implementation of this scheme was approved in the cabinet meeting held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The cabinet has initially made a provision of Rs 5100 crore for this scheme. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister for the implementation of this scheme, which includes Cabinet Ministers Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood and Kapil Mishra.
The Chief Minister said that fulfilling the promise made to the mothers and sisters of Delhi on the occasion of Women’s Day, our government has allocated Rs 5100 crore for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. Soon, every eligible woman will be given Rs 2500 per month, so that they can become financially self-reliant. This is not just financial assistance, but a commitment to realize Modi’s guarantee.
The government will use advanced technology to ensure transparency, efficiency and seamless distribution of funds of the scheme. A portal will be created for this. Aadhaar-based e-KYC will be used for verification of beneficiaries, which will ensure that financial assistance reaches only those who are eligible. In addition, strong digital payment mechanisms will be implemented to prevent leakage and misuse, making the process secure, hassle-free and easily accessible to all beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister said that the scheme aims to promote women empowerment by providing financial assistance per month to the poor women of Delhi. This scheme under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfills the Delhi Government’s commitment towards the women of Delhi in our Sankalp Patra ‘Vikasit Delhi Sankalp Patra’ during the elections. In a historic decision aimed at women empowerment and financial independence, the government has approved the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. This annual scheme of Rs 5100 crore will provide direct financial assistance to the women of Delhi.
She said that this is a big step towards ensuring economic stability and social upliftment for women, especially women from poor families. With the approval of this scheme, the Delhi government has successfully fulfilled its commitment mentioned in the Sankalp Patra, which has further strengthened its commitment towards women welfare and economic empowerment.
