Malaika Arora’s stepfather Anil’s cremated in Mumbai, many celebs pay visit to crematorium in Santacruz

Mumbai, 12 September: The last rites of actress Malaika Arora’s stepfather Anil Kuldip Mehta were performed on Thursday at the Hindu crematorium in Santacruz. He committed suicide on September 11 by jumping from the building where he lived in Bandra area of โ€‹โ€‹Mumbai. Malaika reached the crematorium from her father’s house with her mother Joyce and sister Amrita and other family members.

Anil Mehta’s death has brought a mountain of sorrow on Malaika’s family. Mumbai Police is investigating why Malaika’s father committed suicide. The body of Anil Mehta (62) was found lying below his apartment Ayesha Manor in Bandra at 9 am on Wednesday.

According to the police, he committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of this building. Anil Mehta was 62 years old. The police and forensic team have investigated the spot. Although the police did not find any suicide note, this case is also being investigated from the angle of suicide. The police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem.

On receiving the news of Malaika’s father’s suicide, her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was the first to reach her house. After this, her brother Sohail Khan, her father Salim Khan, mother all came. After this, Arjun Kapoor also reached there and stayed with her the whole day. Malaika was in Pune when this incident happened, she reached Mumbai in the afternoon.

After that many Bollywood celebrities reached her house to console her. Designers Sabyasachi and Vikram Phadnis, Salma Khan, Salim Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Kim Sharma, Seema Sajdeh, Arhaan Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Angad Bedi, Sophie Choudhary and many others reached the house.

Malaika and Amrita left for the crematorium from their father’s house along with other family members. Malaika’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was the first to reach the crematorium with his wife Shura Khan. Apart from this, many celebrities including Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Farah Khan and Arshad Warsi reached the crematorium.
