Lucknow, January 10: A young man attempted self-immolation with his family in front of Vidhan Bhawan on Friday. However, the police present on the spot rescued everyone safely. Hazratganj police station is investigating the matter.
Station in-charge Vikram Singh said that on Friday afternoon, Rajkamal Rawat, a resident of Nigohan, reached in front of Vidhan Bhawan Gate No. 4 with his family. Here he poured petrol on himself, the police personnel present there stopped him and took him into custody and brought him to the police station.
During interrogation, Rajkamal alleged that Shahenshah, Ishrat Ali and Sameer Ali, residents of Kanta Karundi, had filed a false case against him under section 307.
The police arrested him and sent him to jail and after three and a half months he has come out of jail on bail. The opposition is harassing him and his family. That is why today he came here with his wife Neetu Kumari (27), daughter Jiya Singh (06), son Rudransh (03), and daughter Jiyaanshi (08) with the intention of self immolation.
Initial investigation has revealed that Rajkamal had shot at property dealer Shahanshah in a dispute over money. Now the accused has created a high voltage drama by committing self immolation with his wife and children by accusing the victim of harassing him. At present, the police is investigating the case to know the truth.
