Man blows a conch shell inside stepwell in Sambhal, Muslim community expresses objection

Sambhal, 29 December: The work of digging and removing soil is underway for the ninth day on Sunday under the direction of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the ancient stepwell found in the Muslim dominated locality Laxmanganj in Chandausi of Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.

It was told that in the meantime, today afternoon, a person went down on the pretext of seeing the stepwell and blew a conch shell. Before the people digging there could understand anything, that person ran away from there.

Regarding this, while the people of the Muslim community expressed objection to the ASI team and demanded action against that person, the heartbeat of the police and administrative officials present there increased on hearing the blowing of the conch. They have started the search for that person by gathering information from the people working in the stepwell.

During the excavation of the ancient stepwell found recently in Laxmanganj, a person wearing kurta pyjama and a yellow towel reached there today at around 1 pm. That person went down on the pretext of seeing the stepwell. During this time, he blew a conch there loudly and then ran away from the stepwell. This left the people working there speechless. By the time those people could understand anything, that person had disappeared from there.

The police and administrative officials present there were shocked to hear the sound of conch in the stepwell. Regarding this, people of the Muslim community have raised objection to the ASI team and have demanded action against the accused person. They say that such an act has been done only with the intention of spoiling the atmosphere. It was told that the person has also distributed letters addressed to Home Minister Amit Shah to some people present there, in which the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have been requested to come to Chandausi.

In this regard, a police officer of Sambhal said that a complaint has been received about a person blowing a conch during the excavation today in the ancient stepwell found in Laxmanganj. He is being searched.

Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that he has reached the spot and is taking information by talking to the police officers and personnel posted there on duty. He said that the person who reached near the stepwell with a conch is being searched.
