Shahjahanpur, 29 July: In Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, a man allegedly murdered his wife by slicing her neck with a sharp instrument following a family argument. Following the murder, the accused and his family departed the site, leaving the body behind, the police said.
The police have taken charge of the body and have submitted it for a post-mortem examination. They have also initiated a search operation in order to apprehend the suspects.
Rakib, the accused, had been arguing with his wife, Khalida, for several days. The couple had been married for 13 years and had been fighting constantly since then. Khalida had been residing with her parents for the previous month when she was summoned to her in-laws’ home on Wednesday to finalise things.
Soon after, Rakib and his wife got into a fight, during which he reportedly murdered his wife by slicing her neck with a sharp blade. The husband and his entire family departed the house after the murder, leaving the body behind. The murder’s motivation is also being probed.
“Rakib and Khalida have had disagreements for a long time,” stated Salma, the deceased’s mother. Rakib attempted to set Khalida on fire eight years ago. This disagreement also involves the in-laws.” “We are conducting a search operation to find the accused husband and his family,” said police superintendent Ashok Kumar Meena.
“We’re also attempting to figure out what motivated the murder,” he added.
