Earlier married thrice and separated with them
Barabanki, 05 February: After marrying three times (separated), a man murdered his fourth wife and threw her body in the canal. When the girl’s mother filed a missing report of her daughter, the police caught the accused and revealed the incident.
ASP Dr. Akhilesh Narayan Singh, while revealing the incident on Tuesday night, said that Ramsundari Rawat of Karma Mau village of Loni Katra police station complained to the SP on January 9 that four years ago, Anil Verma, a resident of Daulatpur village of the area, trapped her 16-year-old daughter Shivani in a love and married her. He was living in Khurdahi, Lucknow with her daughter, but after October 2024, Shivani’s whereabouts were not known.
The ASP said that Shivani was Anil Verma’s fourth wife. The first wife was living in her maternal home after going mad in grief. The second wife had died. He had divorced his third wife. Therefore, he married Shivani for the fourth time through a love affair.
It is alleged that Shivani was pressurizing Anil to transfer the farm and house in her name. Angered by this, Anil killed Shivani. The police have also recovered the Scorpio car used in the murder and sent the accused to jail.
