Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Adipurush’ was released in June. The dialogues and graphics of this film were extremely controversial. Due to which the producers had to face the anger of the audience. The film’s writer Manoj Muntashir admitted that he made a mistake in writing the story.
In an interview given to the media, Manoj said, ‘Yes, I have made 100 percent mistake in writing. I am not such an insecure person that I will defend my writing skills by saying that I write well. I am 100% wrong. But I had no bad intentions behind that mistake. I had absolutely no intention of hurting any religion and defaming Lord Ram or speaking bad about Hanumanji. I wouldn’t even think of doing that. Yes, I made a mistake. I’ll be very careful from now on.”
How did the controversy surrounding the film affect your personal life? When asked, Manoj said, ‘I am a human being… not a stone… not a corpse… everything matters. When you are accused, people say bad things, it hurts. But you have to learn to cope with it. I never thought people would react like this. This film was made with very good intentions. Rs 600 crores have been invested in the film, so everyone wants it to be excellent. Who wants to end their career with a film like this? We had no agenda behind this. But things got worse.”
He believes that he should not have presented his side during the ongoing controversy regarding the film.
He said, ‘I feel like I shouldn’t have given an explanation when things were so heated. This was my biggest mistake. I should not have said anything at that time. People are angry with this but their anger is justified. Because this was not the time to explain and now I understand my mistake.
