Min 40% interview marks to be given to candidates invited for personality test after clearing written exam of UP-ESSC

Lucknow, 14 December: In the recruitment process of teachers and instructors in Uttar Pradesh, it will be mandatory to give minimum 40 percent marks to the candidates invited for interview on the basis of written examination.

A maximum of 90 percent marks can be given in the interview. This has been mentioned in the rules of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UP-ESSC) constituted for the recruitment of teachers in Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi government has constituted a commission to ensure fair and transparent selection of qualified and competent teachers and trainers in the state. In this sequence, notification related to the rules has been issued. The rules related to the examination system have been mentioned in it.

This commission will conduct examinations for the recruitment of instructors of basic, secondary and higher education as well as vocational education and teachers of aided minority colleges in the state.

Candidates will be able to appear for interview 3 to 5 times the number of vacancies.

In the rules related to the examination, it is said that for the recruitment of qualified and competent teachers, it will be mandatory for the candidates invited for interview on the basis of written examination to be given minimum 40 percent marks out of the prescribed marks for interview and as far as possible, maximum marks should be given up to 90 percent.

According to the authorities, out of the successful candidates in the written examination, the number of candidates to be interviewed in one Board in a day and the number of Boards to be conducted daily will be decided by the Examination Committee as per requirement.

Further, the number of candidates to be called for interview from among the candidates qualified in the written examination will be 3 to 5 times the number of vacancies (as the Commission deems fit). All the candidates who obtain the final marks (cutoff) will be invited for interview.

This process will be followed on equal numbers

For the posts of teacher or instructor for which interview is required, the Commission will issue a merit list by adding the marks obtained in the written examination and interview where only written examination is to be held, the Commission will prepare the merit list panel on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination only. If the merit of more than one candidate is equal, then in such a situation the marks of the written examination will be considered first and if the marks of the written examination are also equal, the marks obtained in the interview will be considered.

If the marks of both are equal then the maximum percentage of mandatory qualification (JRF, NET, PhD) will be considered and if all are equal then the marks obtained in post graduation will be considered. If the percentage of marks in written examination, interview and compulsory qualification are same then the name of the candidate who is older will be given preference.

If you are unable to take up the post, you will have to submit a representation.

If the candidate selected by the Commission could not take up the post in the allotted organization due to faulty recruitment or due to appointment of a dependent of an employee who died during service or due to any order of the Supreme Court or High Court or termination of the post, then for the adjustment of such candidate, a separate – A separate procedure will be followed.

Such selected candidate will have to present his representation before the Director mentioning the reasons for not taking charge.
