Kanpur, January 10: Due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal, dense fog will cover the sky in Uttar Pradesh in the morning and evening.
Although people get some relief from sunlight, the directions of the winds changed on Wednesday. In such a situation, due to westerly winds, the minimum temperature will drop rapidly and winter chill will increase.
Dr SN Pandey meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology. N. Sunil Pandey said on Wednesday that the western disturbance is being seen in Haryana in the form of a cyclonic circulation.
There is a trough of westerlies in the middle troposphere at a height, with its axis at 5.8 km above sea level, running roughly along latitude 28ยฐN, longitude 75ยฐE. A cyclonic circulation lies over the southeast and adjoining east central Arabian Sea.
Pandey told a trough extends from this cyclonic circulation to the Northeast Arabian Sea and South Gujarat. Another cyclonic circulation is over the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean. Due to these weather activities across the country, the shivering cold in Uttar Pradesh will not subside at the moment. Due to westerly winds, the minimum temperature will drop further due to which melting will trouble the people.
He said that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 17.4 and the minimum temperature was 8.0 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 97 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 66 percent. The direction of the winds was north-west with an average speed of 3.2 km per hour.
According to the weather forecast, due to light to moderate cloudy sky, there is a possibility of cold wave/dense fog in the morning and night. With the sun shining brightly, northwest cold winds will continue to enter the Ganga plains including Kanpur division, due to which winter will persist and the night temperature may also drop.
