Lucknow, 29 January: The Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) of Mirzapur has been suspended with immediate effect on Wednesday due to involvement in corruption. He was accused of threatening and demanding bribe from a businessman at the time of his posting to Kanpur, informed by a tweet from the Chief Minister’s Office.
While, the case of Kumar was being investigated under the supervision of Commissioner( Commercial Tax) Amrita Soni, in which evidence was also collected from the departmental and traders of Kanpur after which he was put under suspension.
During his posting in Kanpur, Santosh Kumar was found guilty in an investigation into threatening to trader for registration and demanding bribe from him. After which he was suspended. Information about his suspension has been sent to the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Secretary’s Office.
