Varanasi, 17 November: A miscreant in Varanasi has demanded extortion money of Rs 50 lakh from a Sarafa businessman in Chowk area.
However, as soon as the matter came to light on Tuesday, the Chowk Police has launched a manhunt for the crook through surveillance.
According to the aggrieved businessman, on the night of November 15, he was feeding biscuits to dogs outside the house. Meanwhile, two youths riding on a bike came with masks on their faces. Unless he says something, one miscreant took out the pistol and said that if he did not give fifty lakh rupees, he would kill him.
Scared of the threat of the miscreants, the merchant somehow rushed to the Chowk police station the next day and apprised the station in-charge about the entire matter.
After this, the police team saw CCTV footage in the vicinity of the businessman’s house, and one of the bike riders was identified as Roshan Gupta alias Kittu.
However, Kittu Chaukghat is absconding in the double murder case.
The police team raided his house to arrest Kittu. But he could not be found.
According to the Chowk in-charge, a case has been registered against the unknown on the basis of the trader of the businessman. Kittu’s name appears in CCTV camera footage. His search is on.
Sources said that Kittu had earlier been involved with the Sunny gang to carry out extortion, murder and robbery. After Sunny was killed in the encounter, a few days with the Rais gang started a criminal offense. Now he is committing robbery and murder incidents by forming his own gang.
He was on the run after being named in the Jaitpura double murder case. A reward of fifty thousand rupees has been declared after this sensational incident on the crook.
