July 19, Lucknow: Mission Shakti Abhiyan, launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for employment and empowerment of women, has now reached village to village and door to door.

Under this campaign, for the first time in the state, women of self-help groups are taking meter readings as Bijli Sakhi and depositing outstanding electricity bills. Due to this, the women of self-help groups have earned about Rs 58 lakh as commission.

On the initiative of CM Yogi, women of self-help groups are being linked with innovations in the state. The system of payment of electricity bills of consumers through self-help groups has been implemented in all the districts of the state. This is also providing employment to women in rural areas and also facilitating people to pay electricity bills.

In the electricity bills deposited by the women of the group, most of the bills are also such, which were not deposited for two or three years or since they had the connection, they had never deposited the bill, but the women of the group had never paid the bill. With this effort, such people have also paid the electricity bill.

In the electricity department, 8600 women of the groups have been registered. In this, 2859 women have recovered 25.68 crore against 2, 04,028 electricity bills. On every bill, the group member is given 20 rupees and if the bill is more than two thousand, one percent is given as commission.
