Kolkata, July 27: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and well-known Hindi film actor Mithun Chakraborty on Wednesday claimed that 38 MLAs of West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) are in touch with the BJP. Of these, there are 21 MLAs who are in direct contact with him.

He has made the above revelations during a meeting with the MLAs at the party’s state headquarters.

Mithun Chakraborty, who became active in Bengal for the first time after the party’s defeat in the 2021 assembly elections, also said that the Trinamool Congress won by using muscle power during the 2021 assembly elections. If there is a fair election in Bengal, the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party is sure.

He said that it is not possible to maintain the power won by force and the Trinamool government will fall.

He said that the way Shiv Sena has done in Maharashtra; the same condition is going to happen to Trinamool Congress. God will save this kingdom.

Mithun Chakraborty said that there is a constant conspiracy against the BJP. We are accused of rioting but no one can cite a single instance where riots have taken place in BJP ruled states. He said that attempts are made to describe the BJP as anti-Muslim, but if we did not get the support of Muslims, would the party have government in 18 states? Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians all like BJP.

Mithun Chakraborty said about the breakdown in Bengal BJP after the 2021 assembly elections, that whoever wants to go should go. It is better that such people are gone, that the party will rise anew with dedicated leaders and workers.

In response to a question on Partha Chatterjee’s case, he kept quiet and said that he does not want to make personal comments on anyone. But if there is evidence of corruption against someone then no one can save him. No one is above the law.

He said that if someone is not guilty then he need not fear. Referring to the sweet relationship with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said that I call her Didi and there is no discrimination in my mind towards her. I don’t know what she thinks of me.

Trinamool’s counterattack

Countering this, Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh has said that Mithun Chakraborty is famous for killing dialogues and his statement is also a dialogue. It has nothing to do with reality. He occasionally comes to Bengal and makes all kinds of rhetoric. If they have guts, then also talk about the ever-increasing prices of diesel, petrol and LPG.
