It is noteworthy that the Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand has started today (Friday) with the opening of the doors of Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedranath Dham on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Badrinath Dham will open on 12th May.
The doors of Baba Kedarnath, the world famous eleventh Jyotirlinga situated in the Himalayas, were opened this morning with rituals. During this, flowers were showered from the helicopter.
The Kedar Dham complex echoed with the melodious tunes of the band of the Grenadier Regiment of the Army. With this, the Chardham Yatra started. More than 10 thousand devotees witnessed this occasion. The weather remained clear on the auspicious occasion. The temple was decorated with about 20 quintals of flowers. The Chief Sevak Bhandara Program Committee has organized everyone’s Bhandara.
At 4 in the morning, the queued Chardham pilgrims started arriving at Shri Kedarnathdham complex. After some time, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay, Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh, Priest, Dharmacharya, Vedpathi, Kedar Sabha officials and District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar. Reached the temple from the east gate. Then the puja started. After this, with the invocation of Lord Bhairavnath and Lord Shiva, the doors of Shri Kedarnath temple were opened at exactly seven in the morning.
After the opening of the doors, the self-proclaimed Shivling of Lord Kedarnath was decorated in the form of a samadhi. After this the devotees started darshan. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present on the occasion of opening of doors. He congratulated all the devotees and wished for the prosperity of the country and the state. He said that this time the Chardham Yatra will create a record. The state government is committed to providing facilities to the pilgrims.
BKTC President Ajendra Ajay has congratulated everyone. He has expressed hope that this time a record number of pilgrims will reach Shri Kedarnath Dham. According to the program, Lord Bhairavnath was worshiped at Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on May 6. The Panchmukhi Bhogmurti of Lord Kedarnath reached Kedarnath Dham from Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath via various stops on May 9.
BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur told that with the opening of the doors of Bhakunt Bhairav temple in Shri Kedarnath Dham on May 11, daily aartis and evening aartis will start in Kedarnath temple. It is believed that Baba Kedarnath remains in samadhi for six months. After the offerings on the last day after the doors of the temple are closed, one and a quarter quintal of Bhabhuti is offered. As soon as the doors open, Baba Kedarnath wakes up from Samadhi. After this the devotees take darshan. The doors of Yamunotri will open at 10:29 am and the doors of Gangotri will open at 12:20 pm today. The doors of Badrinath will open at 6 am on 12th May.
At the time of opening of the doors here today, Kedarnath Dham’s Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, Priest Shivshankar Ling, Vice President of Culture and Arts Council Madhu Bhatrit, Temple Committee members Srinivas Posti, Virendra Aswal, Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh, Executive Officer RC Tiwari, Dharmacharya Aunkar along with the rightful holders were present here. Shukla, Vedpathi Yashodhar Maithani, Vishwamohan Jamloki, Swayambar Semwal, Pradeep Semwal, Arvind Shukla, Kuldeep Dharmwan, Devanand Gairola etc. were present.
