Delhi, 11 March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the successful launch of Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of India’s homegrown Agni-5 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicle (MIRV) technology on Monday.
He commended the team of DRDO scientists for this landmark achievement, stating that it is a proud moment for India.
With the development of MIRV technology, India joins the ranks of only six other countries with this capability. The Agni-5 missile and its MIRV system are crucial components in India’s defence preparedness, showcasing the country’s growing technological prowess.
Equipped with indigenous avionics systems and high-accuracy sensor packages, the MIRV technology ensures that the warheads can be aimed at multiple targets with precision.
This achievement highlights India’s progress in the field of advanced defence technology and reinforces its position among the leading nations in this area.
