Washington, 26 April: American President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet in Australia on May 24. The Quad Leaders’ Summit is being organized at Sydney, which will be attended by Prime Ministers of Japan Fumio Kishida and of Australia Anthony Albanese.
Quad is a group of four nations ‘ India, Japan, America, and Australia, formed with the primary objective of a free and open Indo-Pacific sea, free from the influence of any nation. The Quad leaders would discuss building effective policy on the issues related to new important industries, high standards of basic infrastructure, global health, climatic changes, awareness about marine domain etc.
Australia is hosting the summit on May 24 for the first time. Narendra Modi will attend the summit. Modi has shown greater interest in sustainable and inclusive economic development. Leaders of the four nations have met on four occasions in the past.
