New Delhi, 25 August: This year’s monsoon session of Parliament will start from September 14 and will run till October 1.
According to sources, the session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha of both the Houses of Parliament will take place without any leave and both the houses will function for a few hours at different times on a daily basis.
There will be 18 working days in the monsoon session. This decision was taken in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Due to Corona pandemic, this time the session will be conducted in a different way in which rules of social distance will be followed. The visitor gallery will also be used along with both houses. According to sources, rapid preparations are being made in this regard.
As of now, there will be no holiday during the monsoon session. However, a final decision in this regard will be taken after the all-party meeting.
Meanwhile, some opposition parties say that they are ready for the work of 18 working days, although it is in favour of maintaining the system of weekly holiday.
They say that for this, the session can be extended by a week. At the same time, the government says that holding a session during the corona is a big challenge.
