Moradabad zone tops in filing GST returns in Oct, Lucknow zone lagging far behind

Lucknow, 10 November: In the month of October, the traders of Moradabad zone have again secured the first position in the state in filing GST returns.

Additional Commissioner Grade-1 Kamleshwar Prasad Verma said that Kanpur has got second position, Aligarh has got third position and Saharanpur has got fourth position in the state.

According to the State Tax Department, 64 thousand 725 businessmen have registered in Moradabad zone. Of these, 34 thousand 927 businessmen are eligible to file GST returns. In the month of October, 33 thousand 338 businessmen have filed GST returns.

Additional Commissioner Grade-1 Kamleshwar Prasad Verma said that 95.92 percent businessmen of the zone have secured first position in the state by filing returns, which is commendable.

Still, 1599 businessmen have not yet filed the returns. Those who did not file returns are 4.58 percent. The average of non-filers in the state is 5.76. Kanpur ranks second in the state with 4.64 percent of people not filing returns. Lucknow zone has lagged behind in filing returns.
