Mukhtar Ansari’s marksman Pankaj Yadav killed in UP STF encounter

Mathura, 07 August: Uttar Pradesh’s Agra STF unit and Farah police in a joint operation killed Mukhtar Ansari’s sharp shooter Pankaj Yadav in an encounter near Rosu village. One of his associates managed to escape, said police.

Pankaj had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. The STF Deputy SP Dharmesh Shahi and his team received information that a reward of Rs 1 lakh was going to pass through Agra Delhi Highway in Farah police station area at 5 am on Wednesday.

After this, STF and SWAT team cordoned off the area. When the miscreant coming on a bike was signaled to stop, he started firing at the police. In retaliation, the bike-riding miscreant Pankaj Yadav was killed. He was originally a resident of Tahirapur in Mau district. About 40 cases including murder, robbery, loot were registered against him. Police recovered cartridges, revolver, a pistol and a bike from the spot.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that in an encounter in Farah area on Wednesday morning, a criminal Pankaj Yadav with a bounty of Rs. 1 lakh on his head was killed. He used to work for mafia Mukhtar Ansari and Shahabuddin. He used to commit heinous crimes on contract. Pankaj is accused of killing constable Satish Kumar. A bounty of Rs. 1 lakh was placed on him in this case.
