Mumbai: ED raids Uddhav Thackeray’s relative’s house, seizes 11 flats worth 6.45 cr

Mumbai, March 22: An Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Tuesday raided the residence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s brother-in-law in Thane district and seized 11 flats worth Rs 6.45 crore. The ED team is still conducting a thorough investigation.

The ED had registered a money laundering case against Pushpak Group of Companies in 2017. During the investigation of this case, it was found that Rs 30 crore was sent to the bank account of Mahesh Patel, Chandrakant Patel and Nandkishore Chaturvedi from a company named Humsafar Dealer. From the accounts of these companies, money was sent to the Saibaba Housing Foundation of Shridhar Patankar, brother-in-law of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. With this money, construction work was done in a society named Nilambari Project in Vartak Nagar, Thane.

In the same case, today the ED team raided the house of Shridhar Patankar and seized 11 flats worth Rs 6.45 crore. Earlier, the ED team had attached assets worth Rs 21 crore in the same case. The ED team is still investigating the spot.

BJP state vice-president Kirit Somaiya said that he has complained to the ED against Shrikant Patankar for buying temple land. ED is going to investigate this matter very soon. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar said that the Enforcement Directorate is taking action on the basis of the complaint received.
