Gorakhpur, 23 July: Namaz controversy in Uttar Pradesh is far from over. A starting example has now emerged in the Gorakhpur district. An older man offered Namaz outside the official house of Chief Development Officer Sanjay Kumar Meena (IAS).

A bystander took a video of him, which quickly went viral. Hindu organizations denounced the video once it went viral.

However, SP City has launched an investigation. With Muharram approaching, police have stepped up their efforts. Police are taking the situation seriously because there has been no procession on Muharram over the last two years because of Corona. However, there are no such restrictions this year.

According to SP City Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, the incident was brought to notice when the video went viral. The search for the elderly is underway. It is prohibited to perform Namaz in such a location.

Following an inquiry into the incident, action will be taken against the individual. According to CDO Sanjay Kumar Meena, the incident of offering Namaz has come to the fore. Nobody can perform Namaz in such a secluded setting. In this case, action will be taken against the individual.

This comes only a few days after a massive row over Namaz in a Lucknow mall. On Friday, a video of some people offering Namaz in the waiting area at Prayagraj Junction’s platform number one surfaced on social media.

The GRP and RPF have heightened vigil at the Prayagraj Junction after the incident. The footage showed a Muslim cleric leading prayers in the waiting area, with alleged madrassa students behind him.

Railway officials have remained tight-lipped about the event. Still, they have stated that an inquiry into the rescue of some minors at the station on suspicion of child trafficking is underway.
