National Commission for Women seeks report from DGP in the case of ‘Adivasi’ woman being paraded naked in Rajasthan

New Delhi, 2 September: The National Commission for Women has condemned the incident of a woman being paraded naked in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.

On Saturday, the commission wrote on its ‘X’ handle, “A woman was molested, stripped and video was made. Police inaction is unacceptable despite the incident happening two days ago.

Commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma has directed the Rajasthan Director General of Police to immediately arrest the culprits and implement necessary IPC provisions. He has asked the DGP to submit a comprehensive report within 5 days.

It is noteworthy that this incident which shames humanity has come to light from Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. Here on Thursday, a tribal woman was allegedly beaten, stripped and paraded in the village by her husband.

According to the police, the woman was allegedly in a relationship with another man, due to which her husband did this inhumanity to her.
