New Delhi, 12 December: Three new bills related to changes in the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Evidence Act were introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday for passage. Last week, the bills were put up for fresh consideration by Parliament.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Indian Judicial (Second) Code, 2023, the Indian Civil Defence (Second) Code, 2023, and the Indian Evidence (Second) Bill, 2023, in the Lok Sabha. Tomorrow, the Home Minister could reply to the discussion on the bills.

While presenting the bills last week, the Home Minister said that the bills introduced last time were sent to the Standing Committee of the Home Department.

The committee had suggested several changes to the bills. Many of these changes have been accepted. In such a situation, instead of bringing amendments related to the bills, bills have been brought in a new way.

All three bills have been placed before the House today for discussion and passing.
