New Delhi: Minor’s effort of gifting iPhone to ladylove lands him in police web

New Delhi, August 07: To gift iPhone to his girlfriend on her birthday, the son stole and sold his mother’s jewellery kept in the house at Najafgarh area of Dwarka district in New Delhi. After getting money from both the jewellers, the 15 year old minor also bought an iPhone.

When police registered a case and started an investigation, the truth came out.Police arrested Kamal Verma (40), a jeweller who bought the jewellery. Police recovered the iPhone from the minor and some jewellery from the jeweller. Police are searching for the other jeweller.

During interrogation, the minor told that he is a student of class IX. His mother refused to give him money. So he committed the theft. Police is interrogating the jeweller.

Dwarka district DCP Ankit Singh said that on August 3, a woman named Shashi lodged a complaint of theft in her house at Najafgarh police station. The victim told the police that on August 2, thieves stole jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from her house. The police registered a case and started investigating. Apart from the local police, other staff of the district were given the responsibility of catching the accused. The police searched the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the house. The police did not see any suspect in the footage.

Singh further apprised that on this, the police suspected the people of the house. During investigation, the police came to know that their minor son is missing after the incident. When the police interrogated his friends and relatives, the police came to know that he had bought an iPhone a few days ago. The police’s suspicion now turned into reality. The police raided several places to catch the minor and caught him from his house itself. The police also recovered the iPhone from him. During interrogation, the minor also confessed his crime.
