New Delhi, 23 February: The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the demand of CBSE and ICSE and state boards to cancel the physical examinations of class 10th and 12th. A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar said that such petitions will create false hope among the students regarding conduct of examinations.
The court warned the petitioners that if such a petition was filed further, a fine would be imposed. Students from more than 15 states were among those who filed the petition.
The petition sought a direction to the state boards, CBSE, ICSE, and National Open Schooling to pass a notification regarding the alternative method of evaluation.
However, last year CBSE, ICSE and state boards decided to evaluate students on the basis of alternative assessment criteria.
