Lucknow, 10 Sept: Yogi government will hold Nipun Assessment Test (NAT) on Monday to ensure successful execution of Nipun Bharat Mission.
Examinations will be in place from September 11 to 16, 2023, and pupils in grades one through five will be assessed in language and mathematics disciplines. Mathematics and science disciplines will be examined for students in grades 6 through 8. Exams will be administered via the ‘Saral App,’ and for the first time, pupils will answer questions on an OMR sheet.
The BSA and DIET principals of all districts have been given instructions to conduct the NAT in an open and fair way. Teachers have also been required to achieve 100% student attendance through community involvement and home visits.
“A student’s data from an OMR sheet will be scanned by the teacher using the ‘Saral App’ after the assessment is completed. Only black ball pens will be used to fill out the OMR page. Children in grades four to eight will be allowed to purchase pens for a maximum of Rs 5 through a composite grant. Following the review of examination papers, report cards will be generated and sent to all students,” according to an official release.
Development block-wise flying squads have been organized for cheating-free and transparent assessment, and district-level personnel, including (Basic Education and other departments), have been asked to monitor and ensure cross-vigilance. Control rooms for examinations have been constructed in district project offices, according to an official release.
“The exam will last no more than 1 hour 30 minutes. The scanning procedure will be finished by the teachers within one hour of the assessment. This time period can be determined based on the number of children,” the statement continued. From classes one to three, eight students can be assessed on one OMR sheet, however from classes four to eight, one OMR sheet will be used for each kid.
“Teachers will fill in the student ID number on the OMR sheet of children in grades one to three. The teacher will ask each student the questions on the question paper and fill out the OMR sheet based on their answers,” the statement continued.
The procedure of filling the question papers and OMR sheets will be explained with examples when the question papers and OMR sheets are sent to all pupils in classes four to eight, according to the statement.
“If the child answers correctly according to the instructions on the question paper, the teacher will fill the circle made relative to the concerned question with a black ball pen; otherwise, it will be left blank. Only a black ball pen will be used to fill out the OMR sheet,” the message continued.
