New Delhi, July 25: NITI Aayog and social media platform Whatsapp have entered into partnership for supporting women entrepreneurs in India by developing a strong ecosystem to promote them.
The women entrepreneurs registered under Women
Entrepreneurship Platform(WEP) will be served through their specific programmes
for building capacity. In line with this partnership, the yearly calendar
of events to address the issues faced by women entrepreneurs will be announced
by Whatsapp as business enabler.

Whatsapp will also support Women Transforming India Award 2019 of NITI
Aayog through contribution of Rs. 69 lakh to its winners.
The global head of Whatsapp, Will Cathcart expressed happiness over joining hands with NITI Aayog. He said, “Small businesses are the backbone of strong economy and I am proud of the role Whatsapp can play in helping build the next generation of India’s women entrepreneurs.
‘On the other hand, CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant said that the next big disruption would be driven by women-led entrepreneurs with digital medium being business enabler. He further added that this partnership underlines commitment to support aspirations of women entrepreneurs in India.
