New Delhi, 08 November: A political uproar erupted in the Bihar Assembly on Tuesday over Nitish Kumar’s statement about the positive impact of educating girls on population control.
The National Commission for Women has condemned the statement and demanded the Chief Minister to apologize to the country for his statement.
On Wednesday, National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma said that yesterday’s statement of the Chief Minister of Bihar was extremely objectionable and insulting.
Expressing concern, the Commission said that the way he spoke in the Assembly was like dialogues from a C grade film. In front of the women and the worst thing was that the men sitting behind them were laughing. His actions and expressions were almost like a crude joke. The worst part is that the Speaker has not removed him yet. Bihar Assembly Speaker should take action against him.
Rekha Sharma said that her indecent remarks in the Assembly are an insult to the dignity and respect of every woman. His language is very insulting and bad. If a leader makes such statements openly in a democracy then you can imagine what will be the condition of women in the state.
