New Delhi, July 01: The National Examination Agency (NTA) has declared the result of the re-examination (retest) of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 held on June 23. None of the 813 candidates who appeared for the NEET-UG re-examination got full marks, bringing down the number of toppers from 67 to 61.

NEET officials said that the NTA had conducted a re-examination for 1563 selected candidates who were initially given grace marks as they claimed that they had lost exam time.

Officials said that out of 1,563 candidates in this exam, 813 had appeared for the exam again. While the re-examination was conducted in the same six cities, it was held at different centers.

None of the 813 candidates managed to secure 720/720 marks, bringing down the number of toppers from 67 to 61. Five of the six candidates, who had earlier got a perfect score of 720/720, appeared for the exam again on June 23. However, they repeated the high score above 680.

According to the data, none of the two candidates from Chandigarh appeared for the exam. A total of 291 out of 602 students from Chhattisgarh, 1 student from Gujarat, 287 out of 494 from Haryana and 234 students from Tura in Meghalaya appeared for the exam.

The affected students have been given the option to either retain their original marks, that is, without grace marks, or take the exam again. Revised marks will be issued to students who re-appeared on June 23. However, students who have not re-appeared will now be given their old original marks, that is, marks without grace marks.
